With the industrialization reaching rural areas the demand for good artisans for furniture & cabinet making is on rise also in urban & semi urban areas furniture & cabinet making is extensively used for meeting the needs of elite & commercial organizations.

 

Keeping this demand in mind the course of “furniture & cabinet making” is designed by NIOS to train technicians who can manufacture various articles of furniture & cabinet for commercial use. After going through this course the student will be able to identify & select the right type of wood for various applications and also manufacture to required dimensional tolerances articles of furniture & cabinets for commercial use.

 

The pass outs of this program have ample scope for self employment; they can also get waged employment with furniture makers as there is sufficient market demand for furniture & cabinets in semi-urban areas.
